News from the Framework Programme
The Blickwechsel framework programme organizes the event series "Jour Fixe: Turkey in the 21st Century". On a regular basis, we have panel discussions on current issues related to Turkey. On some occasions, we also organize additional events like book readings or film screenings.
At our upcoming Jour Fixe on October 30, 18:00 in Berlin (HU Main Building) our panelists Myrto Tsilimpounidi, Sarah H. Awad, Erdem Çolak and Elif Çiğdem Artan (Chair) will reflect upon the interplay between resistance and arts:
In this panel, our speakers will focus on cases in Istanbul, Cairo, and Athens and will discuss questions such as what is the role of visual and performative arts in political contexts? What is the interplay between political protests and street art? To what extent is street art a form of political participation and resistance? And does it have a transformative potential over the uses of urban space? more
